"Summertime done come & gone, My, Oh, My"
Summertime is in fact easing it's way out to make way for fall. Schools are back in session and we are looking forward to great new music, our one year anniversary in October (time has flown by!) and RSD Black Friday, but let's not get too ahead of ourselves! There is great music out now, Tom Petty, OCMS, Ty Segall, Shovels & Rope, Ace Frehley, Jenny Lewis, Eric Clapton & Friends tribute to J.J. Cale and more. Drop by and listen in.
Last Saturday, we took a road trip to the Mercy Lounge to see our good friends, Government Cheese take the stage and plow through 2 punk spirited sets. While we're all a little older, they still rock and we still have the energy to pogo dance like a Ramones crowd! If you missed them, truck up to Louisville on September 27th and check them out! This is also the perfect time to let you know that we have their back-in-print 2 disc anthology 1985-1995 on Cedar Creek Music. Also, hitting the racks this fall, Robert Plant, Ryan Adams, Justin Townes Earle, Queen Live at the Rainbow 1974 (vinyl is exclusive to indie stores), The Beatles mono releases on vinyl, Smashing Pumpkins Adore anniversary release and more to come! For all you Deadheads out there, 2 major release are set for the fall, first up on September 9th "Wake Up To Find Out: Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale, NY 3/29/1990," the legendary show with jazz great Branford Marsalis sitting in with the Dead for the first time and the next installment in the Garcia Live series, "Garcialive 5: December 31st 1975 Keystone Berkeley," is released on October 28th.
